Middle Tennessee State University Completes Analysis of Complete College Act of Tennessee for Its Recruiting Efforts
Paskill Stapleton & Lord conducts audit and analysis and makes recommendations on how University can best respond to the reform agenda

Glenside, PA – September 23, 2011

Since the enactment of the Complete College Tennessee Act (CCTA) in January, 2010, Tennessee’s colleges and universities have been determining how best to meet the challenges and opportunities provided by the comprehensive reform agenda. Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is in the process of taking full advantage of the new act, having brought in Paskill Stapleton & Lord, a higher education marketing and enrollment management firm, to analyze how MTSU can improve its recruitment efforts to better conform with the CCA. Following several months of research and an admissions marketing audit, Paskill Stapleton & Lord recently completed its analysis, messaging recommendations, and a marketing and communications plan focused on recruiting key populations.

“The analysis conducted by Paskill Stapleton & Lord will have a positive impact on the way we market MTSU and conduct our recruiting efforts,” said Deb Sells, Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice Provost for Enrollment and Academic Services “While some of the findings confirmed our initial assumptions, we also gained insight into how best to recruit key constituencies so that more Tennesseans can be better educated and trained.”

Following this initial analysis, Paskill Stapleton & Lord will help MTSU craft its messaging and develop its marketing plan for the next few years.

“The CCA promotes an agenda for higher education which establishes the direct link between the state’s economic development and its educational system,” said Jeanne Gosselin, Senior Consultant at Paskill Stapleton & Lord. “Our analysis and recommendations were focused on how MTSU could take the most advantage of the funding formulas while also expanding its outreach so that more students can benefit from an MTSU education.”

The CCA was enacted in January of 2010 and is in its second year of a 5-year master plan that focuses on increasing statewide educational attainment and concentrates on implementing the provisions of the CCTA.
